Just like I did w/ my previous #TBT post, I'm gonna start jumping on THE WELL LA blog from time to time to drop some knowledge + photos + vids. Enjoy these brain farts from a fun day/night/whatever. Thanks for letting me hijack the blog again buds!
SO... I ate Thanksgiving dinner w/ the family on November 24th, then hopped onto a plane to France on November 25th, and landed at 11AM in Paris on November 26th... just in time to meetup with my other family in Paris... and to throw a party for the next 8 hours... The video above is just a nice little intro to what I walked into after a long flight and a little bit of sleep... I was smack dab in a room w/ all my French familia and I was super chuffed to be there and get some love... here's me lurkin up a storm...
So yeah, I arrived at 8pm to the party at La Bellevilloise in Paris and met up with the crew over pizza at the venue before everything went down at 10PM til 6AM (God I love Paris!)... Anyways, the label family flew me out and asked me to do their Instagram stories thing that day, so I definitely was there to grab some moments!
I started to shoot the night a bit later b/c I was just chillin and getting faded backstage with so many homies I had not seen in forever. But, soon enough, I went and finally left the HOMIELAND area to catch some action from two of my best mates in the world, Guillaume Berg B2B w/ Para One. We have been buds for ages now and we keep running into each other in LA or Paris or NYC or somewhere else vibey. We always meet up last minute, but we always make time for each other b/c that's what the crew is for. Plus they fucking have great taste when it comes to music. So there! Actually, I always love seeing Gui around, so I selfishly made a mini slideshow gallery thingie of my favorite white man ;)
Then, I kicked it for a bit w/ the crew and went searching and lurking for more vibes ;) After a quick smoke sesh backstage, I grabbed Surkin's headphones and brought them downstairs then proceeded to watch him do his GENER8ION thang all up in Paris. The kids were all about it :)
The crazy thing about a Bromance party in Paris is that ALL the homies are around and kickin it... I even saw Gesaffelstein chillin, but I'm on team Invisible Gesa now, so I did not snap a photo of the Dark Prince. Sorry internets ;) On to the next...
Yo... OK, next up is this young dude from Brussels named HAMZA that I met w/ Brodinski in the cuts of Belgium last year... and a year later, this fool has been KILLING it w/ his FUTURE meets FRITES vibes and representing the youth from Belgium and Paris w/ his lil hits. Go young Sauce God.
Another shoutout to the new crew that are representing the newest BMC sounds... It was good to just see some Parisians turning up to shit kids turnup to in LA these days. A lot of worldwide unity. I stuck a photo w/ names of some fools u may not have seen but have DEFINITELY HEARD...
Then of course, the Boy that started it all... Brodinski... doing his BRAVA thing w/ a little bit of that SOUR PATCH KID to the faithful in his home crowd... this one sorta hit home b/c I had been documenting Bromance since literally day 1. Like when Louis and myself shared a loft in Echo Park together and decided to start Bromance... like now it's 5 years later and it was just cool to reminisce on something special that happened. IMPORTANT TO THE CULTURE IN SO MANY WAYS.
Next up were Maelstrom + Louisahhh (who btw just let me crash at her amazing crib in Paris while her and Mael were makin fire beats in Nantes during the week lol)... I mean, they now head their label, RAAR, which specialize in that dark, dystopian techno that we all love to cry to and dance to ;) This shit was amazing to see my old Silverlake neighbor still inspiring new kids across the Atlantic Ocean. This is what we do... the homies fuckin kill it.
OK, so by now, it's like 5AM in Paris and I just realized I had landed at 11AM earlier in the day, only ate 1/2 a pizza before the party, and I had been at the venue since about 8PM... so yeah I was going a bit mental at this point. Luckily, I still kept it somewhat together b/c I needed to grab some footage of my Club Cheval boys... Myd and Canblaster as they played some FIRE ASS FIRE. Like some VIP shit Myd made 2 hrs before the party... on the 5AM dance floor... Shit was fucking worth it. Then I shriveled up into a ball shortly thereafter.
So, yeah, I just spent a grip of time writing this while I should be out eating something b/c I've been jetlagged since Saturday, and I've been in Paris for a week now... so here's a quick shoutout to the crew in the gallery above. S/O: Will Hoopes, #ManuBarron, Mister Tweeks, Maxim Maillet, Tedeski, Yves Dre, Sooichi, ARMES Family, Tom Rodge, Louise Chen, Hirmane, Stephane De La Malka, Myriam Essadi, Savoir Faire Crew and the FUCKIN FANSSSSSS
So yeah, I was super fucking psyched and honored and amazed and chuffed and loved up and tired as fuck after this crazy party celebrating the lives of so many of my homies. Then I went and slept til 5pm the next day.
C'EST LA VIE!
